Answering your questions about SystmConnect
Posted on May 30th, 2026
It has now been almost two months since the surgery introduced SystmConnect forms for appointment requests and queries.
We would like to thank everyone for their patience during this transition period, and especially those who have already given the new system a try.
Moving to a total triage system is helping ensure that patients who need appointments are being seen within the appropriate timeframe.
We also wanted to address some of the most frequently asked questions we have received so far. If you have any questions not answered below, please
contact us.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When I fill in a form will I always be given an appointment?
A: No. If the GP reviews your form and if they are unable to triage it, they will ask you for further information before providing you with advice or an appointment.
Q: How do I know you have received my SystmConnect request form?
A: When you submit the form, it says ‘Dear patient. Thank you for your submission. It has been received and once reviewed by a GP, one of the team will be in touch. You do not need to contact the surgery. If your symptoms worsen or change, please complete a new form. Kind regards, Orchid House Surgery’
Q: If I don’t hear from you the same day I submit the form should I call the surgery?
A: No. We will contact you as soon as the GP has reviewed your form and we have a suitable appointment slot for you, if the GP has requested an appointment to be booked.
Q: What if I struggle to fill in online forms?
A: That’s no problem. Call us on 01202897000 and we can fill it in with you over the phone.
We are committed to ensuring you get the right care at the right time. To do this, we have moved to a Total Triage system.
